In trying to synchronize the local files on my Mac for my site, Brief Notes, with the files and sub-folders on my remote hosting service, Hostgator, I discovered that there needs to be a time difference of at least one minute in the Modified property of the source and target files. This requirement is mandatory if older modification date is chosen for the Update existing items on target setting.
